Update: Climbing Kilimanjaro For African Elephants-Sunday Markets Edition

Fundraising update on my Seven Summits Project. Read more about the cause and how you can help!

For the second time this year, I had the pleasure to be part of Lazy River Estate Markets in Dubbo. I have previously lent a helping hand to my mother-in-law with her online shop Collection & Style, but this time was a little different. I also had my handmade jewellery and elephant motif watches with me that some of you make already know are sold for charity.

Even catching a cold the day before was not going to keep me away from playing shop. Despite my crackling voice and a sore throat like I’ve never felt before, I ended up having such a great time! It was great getting the support from the local community and even greater to see people feel as passionate for my cause as I do. It reassures me to know there are still people out there that care and this makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

I would like to thank everybody that came out in this soaring hot day and especially big thank you and virtual hugs to everyone that bought from me! So far, $360 has been raised towards my goal of $5000 and the only way is up from here! I will be launching a crowdfunding page soon too and have another couple of events planned to help speed up the fundraising process!

However, it wasn’t just us there today. Around one hundred market stalls were set up to provide shoppers with anything they might need before this festive season. From food stalls to clothes, candles and crafts to jewellery and art, Lazy River markets really had it all. The turnout was great, seeing people from all across Australia. No doubt you will find me there again next time!

If you have just tuned in or saw me at the market and wanted to know a little bit more about the charity and what my goals are for 2018, check out “Climbing Kilimanjaro For Charity” where I discuss it a bit more in-depth. If you are as passionate about saving the declining numbers of African elephants and would like to help, I would love to hear about your thoughts and ideas and figure out how it can be mutually beneficial. If you missed me at the markets, some of my crafts are sold on my blog as well so make sure to check out the shop here.
